The reveal around the instrument panel on the earlier model Camry's must be removed to gain access to the clock. There are some screws holding the reveal in place, as well as two friction studs made of plastic. These "friction studs" snap into the dash at the left and right sides of the reveal. Great care must be used when removing the reveal to avoid breakage (the friction studs do not come out easily). It is possible to do the removal, but it is recommended to have the clock removed by an authorized Toyota dealership and then send the unit in for professional refurbishment. The installation of the clock and reveal is far easier than the removal process.
Note: Everyone should have a manual for their vehicle, and the library should have a professional shop manual available in the REFERENCE section.
