Remove the wiring harness or the fan motor belt, depending on the year of your Chevy Cavalier. Remove the fan motor retaining bolts. The fan motor will come off.

If the fan clutch goes bad then your cooling fan attached to the motor spins freely and will not cool the engine properly. Not sure if a cavalier would have one because usually only cars with V8 engines have the fan mounted to the engine. And all cavaliers I have ever seen have electric fans mounted directly to the radiator. Hope that helps.

The 1994 full size Chevy used the serpentine belt system to drive the pump and fan and it turned them counterclockwise.
The fan relay could be bad or the fan motor could be bad.
If you drop the glove box door you can usually see it.
Simply remove the 4 bolts holding it on and replace it.
You start by figuring out what's wrong with it. The repair will be much different in the instance of broken wiring than it will be if the fan motor has burned out, you know? You need to perform some diagnosis first and narrow down the possible faults.
Go to www.autozone.com ...... if I remember correctly you check the right side of the screen and click on your model, etc ..... gives excellent step by step instructions. Ron J.
It is mounted on the driver side inner fender close to the battery.
Possibly some leaves have entered through the fresh air intake.
The coolant fan sensor is the same as the sensor that shows the coolant temperature on the dash gauge. It is located on the intake manifold.

This is unwise, an engine that is not near 195 degrees is not running efficiently. The ECM and BCM control the fan.
The fan switch should be on the driver's side, screws into the radiator. Should be two wires.
