You can't fix it but you can replace the telescoping mechanism. Dockers does not offer replacements parts. I have the same problem with mine and when I took the handle apart I noticed that the top push-button piece was cracked. Therefore it doesn't provide the appropriate even pressure to move the buttons into the notches (holes). With much wiggling and expletives deleted, I am able to get the handle up but the frustration is extreme. Plus who wants to fuss with that when trying to maneuver luggage at the airport!
