You have to replace the light. No way to fix the issue.
The brake light is controlled by a little button switch that's mounted high on the brake pedal lever. If you follow the brake pedal upwards with your fingers, you'll feel the button. It has a spring in the button that pushes the button back out when you release the brake pedal. If the spring jams, the brake lights stay on. Replace the button switch.
It is very easy to reset the check engine light on a 2002 Volkswagen Cabrio. The negative battery cable can be taken off for one minute and replaced to reset the light.

When you open your door there is a button that is spring loaded and pops out to turn the light on. When you close the door it pushes the button in to turn it off.If that button is stuck or damaged it will stay on . or If a wire is pinched it will ground out causing the light to stay on. Or you have a switch that dials up the dashboard lights from dim to high , If you roll that button past high it turns on the light . Roll it back and you will feel it click and your light will turn off.
AnswerTo the right of the rear window defroster button, behind a plastic cover. Just pop it off with a flat head screw driver. On my 1998 Cabrio, I found it to the right of the ash tray. Remove ash tray then slide the cover to the immediate right of the ash tray to the left to reveal the OBDII connector.
Any light that isn't sunlight (i.e. indoor lighting, lamps)

Spring Point Ledge Light was created in 1897.
the running lights can not be turned off. they are safety features and cannot be by-passed
unless you have the right tools you don't. you would need to remove all the rivets in the knife, take it apart, and flatten the spring a little. i wouldn't suggest this as they tend to open in the poket if the spring is to light
