There's is only one way I know how to help or even removed the nasty lumps
it works in comforters also take it to the Laundromat where you have large dryers
and put your walking shoes or ,sneakers (clean ones of course) in with the duvet:

you replace the spring inside the gas cap that pushes the door open
locate the fuse box and remove the cover. On the inside of the cover there should be a diagram of the fuse placement.. Remove the radio fuse and replace with the same proper size.
check wiring in door most likely broken inside protective cover when opening and closeing wires will get brittle wiht age and crack or just could be the relay.
With what
unscrew the two screws- one near the arm rest, the other behind the door handle. Put a putty knife between the door and the cover on the bottom of the door and using the knife as a fulcrum, pull out on the cover. There are several fasteners around the inside and the top is fastened with a molding so pull out to release, then up to remove.
If it's like a cream soup, meaning that it doesn't have chunky ingredients, you could try using a whisk to blend in the lumps.
Drive it into a pit and cover it up!

The best way to fix holes in a mesh pool cover is to sew it. If the holes are too large for this you should consider just replacing it.
Just need a new valve cover gasket. it's an easy fix.
