I just did this. The seat level broke off. The replacement seat recliner has a different stronger post, however it attaches to the seat lever differently so I just realized that now I have to go and buy the updated seat lever. I replaced the passanger side. Ensure that the seat is in the furtherst upright position. If your seat post broke off use vise grips on the post. You have to loosen the upholstry. My truck has leather seats. Take off the lumbar button surround. Use a small slotted screwdriver to pry away the clips. There are four of them and you have to be gentle. Loosen the seat pan upholstry. Underneath the pan, facing you along the bottom side the upholstry is clipped to a round bar. The clip is a long piece of plastic, attached to the edge of the fabric that clips around the bar. You can rotate the clip down. Start at one edge and pry off the platic edge clip. Once you get it started you should be able to unclip the entire thing. Now do the back bottom of the seat pan. It's very ackward to get at. I sat on the ground and reached under the seat from the front and pulled on the clip, forward, at an edge and got it started. With my other hand coming in from the back of the seat pan I held the edge until I could work the length off. Next, undo the seat back upholstry. It is joined together at the bottom, under the seat back, with two hooking J type edge connectors. You just have to locate it and unclip it. The upholstry is under tension, you have to be gentle with it. Once you get the seat back fabric unhooked getly try and roll it up so that the recliner upper arm is visible. You have to move some of the foam aside to get at the bolts. Lift up the seat pan fabric and remove the front bolt. You have to take the little cable clip and cable end out of the gizmo at the front. If it is difficult, remove or loosen all four seat recliner bolts first and work it out. Once you get all the bolts out you can slide the recliner out. It has a plactic booty thing on it that you have to remove and install on the new recliner. Slide the seat back arm of the recliner mechanism up through the seat pan upholstry into place, install the litte cable end and clip in the front gizmo and bolt in place. It is a good idea to start all the bolts in the holes before you tighten them down. Roll down all the upholstry and even it all up. You may have to tuck up some un-hemmed ends. Rehook the seat pan upholstry. It wasn't as frightening as I had expected. The back of the pan upholstry is a little difficult as you have to do it by feel. Stretch the fabric past the clip, work in one end and run your "pull" down the edge and it should clip into place. I sat on the ground again, one hand in the front, this time guiding/pulling on the clip while i pushed the edge forward with my hand in from the back. The side clips easily back on to the round bar. Make sure the seat back fabric is all tucked in and square and reconnect the bottom J clips into each other. Clip the lumbar support surround back in. Start with the top clip, it seems to be the most difficult. You have to ensure that it clips completely in, it has a tendancy not to if you start elsewhere. That should do it. I have to go and get a new lever. I did notice on the web you can buy a replacement lever the bolts on over the broken seat post. It is one third the price of the recliner.
on the back side of the oil pan.
Yes... It snaps right out and back in.
It is bolted to the back of the transmission and then the driveshaft on the rear slides into it.
