If it is an electric speedo it probably is the speed sensor and if it is a manal speedo it is the cable.
There is no speedometer cable on a 1995 caravan. it is done by a speed sensor on the transmission and digtal data is sent to the computer and the computer then sends the signal to the speedometer. This is the case even when the speedometer looks analog. Likely a bad speedometer is the cause if it does not move as the speed sensor is used for other functions and would trip the "check engine" light if it was bad. the speedometer is part of the instrument cluster and likely you would need to change the whole thing.
The only difference between the Dodge Grand Caravan and the Dodge Grand Caravan Sport is mostly aesthetic. The side cladding on the Sport model is the same color as the body of the vehicle, the spoiler is visible, and there are other convenience items. It also has a firmer suspension than the Grand Caravan.
check the vss located on the tailshaft of the transmission for the speedometer issue the odometer is figured out based on the speedometer also so it will quit as well. this sounds like either the sensor is bad or a short in the wire from it The cord for the speedometer came undone from the transmission or the gauge cluster is bad
1990 model dodge caravan are considered to the cheapest one among other model dodge caravans. The Dodge Caravan, invented an entirely new one: the minivan. Offering an especially useful amount of room in a surprisingly easy-to-drive package, the Caravan quickly became the new synonym for family transportation and spawned competitors from all sides. The Dodge Caravan has traditionally stayed a step ahead of the herd. It was first to market with the sliding door, then the first with two. It pioneered the integration of safety features like airbags. And for many years, it was also regarded as being the most versatile and pleasant-driving minivan. Given all this, it should come as no surprise that the Caravan, along with its longer relative, the Grand Caravan, became the top-selling minivan year after year
If you are trying to replace a faulty speedometer, there should be a couple of clips on the back of the instrument cluster. All you need to do is push the lever and pull the connector out. It is illegal to disconnect the speedometer in the United States for any reason other than to repair or replace it.
