Not sure what you mean by 'fix', but to reset to '0' push the buttton until the trip odometer dislayys and push once again to and it will (should) show 0.0. A sure way to tell is that the main odometer does not display tenths of a mile, only whole numbers, and trip, resettable does.. will show 1234.5 for example

Note: One some other Toyota models you hold down the Trip A meter rather than the odometer. Hope this works for you.
