Buy a new car its a pos
Every 160 000 km if it has Dexcool in the rad.
Drain the vans radiator. Remove the top radiator hose and water inlet. take the thermostat out. Put in the new thermostat and re install the inlet and hose. Refill the radiator.
First you need a REALY big toilet
On the Chevy Malibu 2000, it is tricky to flush your radiator. It appears there is no drain plug at all, but there is. You have to look in front of your radiator on the drivers side, close to the very bottom of the front right-side of the radiator. You will see a little white protruding cylindrical plastic mechanism , which you need a square bit to fit in and twist it, to drain your radiator. I just flushed mine after replacing intake gaskets, drain radiator, when empty put a garden hose in coolant tank and flush until clear. add coolant flush, and flush some more. when system is clean, you can close drain plug on radiator add coolant bring up to proper level. Yep, that is where it is, turn it one quarter turn quarter clockwise ( lefty lucy ). Mine stuck in, it pulls out about 1 half inch. Once drained push it back in and one quarter turn to right.
Generally Surbaru wants a radiator flush as part of the 60k service. However you have some leeway here.
no such thing !
Assuming you are looking for the radiator drain valve, you will find it on the passenger side of the radiator, under the lower radiator hose.
On radiator
hi i have smal question, how to change thermostat in Toyota echo 2000 thanks
go to Jiffy Lube
go to the auto store and buy some prestone flush. instructions are on the back. basically you drain your radiator, pour in the flush, refill the system with water, run the engine with the heater on high for about 15 minutes, then drain the system again, refill it with 50/50 coolant.
