If it's not formatted FAT32 already, you will have to format it to FAT32 which erases the data on the drive.
To format a Seagate Slim external hard drive for Mac, connect the drive to your Mac and open "Disk Utility," found in Applications > Utilities. Select the drive from the list on the left, then click on "Erase" at the top. Choose a format like "APFS" or "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" and give it a name. Finally, click "Erase" to complete the formatting process.
There is no iMac format or Windows 7 format. Photos stored on the iMac and a Windows 7 pc are in the JPEG format. Either computer can read this format.

The NTFS format is owned and controlled by Microsoft and so is not available as a standard format with the Mac's Disk Utility. There are options such as Paragon's NTFS for Mac OS X but normally this would be used on a secondary external drive rather than reformat the MacBook's hard disc.
Computer aplications for Windows are in the .exe file format; for Mac there are in the .dmg file format.
