The piston is not stuck. It must be rotated to retract it. There are two depressions on the piston face. Use a pair of needle nose pliars to turn the piston clockwise to retract it. Turn it until the face of the piston is flush with the boot.
spray it from the inside with wd40 see if that helps...
If it's stuck that bad replace it with a new or rebuilt one.
Sticky or stuck brake calipers. Sticky or stuck parking brake mechanism.
A stuck caliper piston. Stuck caliper slide pins. Pinched brake line/hose. Frozen/stuck parking brake cable/mechanism.
I had this problem, the stick-shift was not fully in the 'park' position try and jiggle the stick.
Sticky/stuck caliper slides, sticky/stuck caliper piston, collapsed brake hose, pinched brake line,
If you front brakes rattle, it is usually caused by a a stuck puck or piston in your brake assembly. When this happens, the piston does not fully retract at times causing you brake pad or pads to wear excessibly and when the piston finally retracts fully and does not keep constant pressure on your pads you get a rattle. I had this problem on my F-150 and the brake guy solved this by installing steel pucks and lube.
Either the caliper piston is frozen stuck or the hydraulic brake hose has collapsed internally. Open the bleeder on that caliper and see if the pressure releases, if it does you have a bad brake hose.
Stuck caliper piston, frozen caliper sliders, collasped brake hose, pinched brake line, grease on the rotor and worn out steering or suspension parts.
No. The booster only takes the pressure from your foot and multiplies the force being applied to the master cylinder. Plus if it was bad you would hear a distinctive hissing noise everytime you hit the brakes. You probably have a stuck caliper pin, clogged hose or stuck piston.
A stuck parking brake could be caused by several things. The brake cable that operates that brake could be stuck, or the mechanism could be stuck at the wheel. The wheel will need to be removed and the cable and emergency brake arms will have to be checked.
I had same problem, 1st see if you can pry open the piston just a little bit byshoving a flat screw driver between rotor & brake pad. And or in my case Ihad to grind off the edge of the rotor as tall as the pad in order to slide out thepads. Then replace the unit..
