Normally, you would simply need to step on the brake pedal before shifting out of park. However, if that doesn't work, the shift lock solenoid circuit may have a problem. Finding out exactly where the problem lies is going to be a matter of tracing out the circuit with a multimeter. Unless you're a pretty experienced mechanic, best leave this to a good shop.
