My sister has 4 female cats - 2 prefer the litter box which is next to the toilet and the other 2 prefer the toilet. She didn't do anything other than leave the seat up all the time as was her habit, and was pretty surprised when she figured out what was going on (she's the only human in the house, and was pretty sure she was flushing consistently) :-D.
Also, my cousin's cat started using the toilet when the basement door leading to her litter box was accidentally left closed for a prolonged period of time.
So, I don't know how to train them to use the toilet, but I think it's possible. Don't know if it's significant that these are all females, and surprisingly, all 3 of the cats with toilet preferences were over age 9 when they started!
cats can't be "toilet trained" but they can be litter trained.
Well, if you want to train them to use the toilet the first thing you need to do is start moving the litter box closer and closer to the toilet then put it in the toilet, after about a week or two take the litter box away. Then your cat will use the toilet!
If a cat is outside, they will use flower beds or gardens for their 'bathroom'. Cats use urine to "mark" territory, so males will often urinate on top of where another male cat urinated.
Indoor cats use litter boxes to urinate and have bowel movements. Litter boxes can contain shredded paper, manufactured wood shavings, or manufactured cat litter products. Indoor cats need at least 2 litter boxes per each cat, located in different rooms. Each additional cat needs at least 2 litter boxes because cats are territorial and will typically pick "their" box. To avoid cat arguments, each cat should have 2 boxes-- the cats will use their urine, their noses, and body language to communicate to other cats which box is "theirs".
my name is Dr Janette Bloomfield and I am a veterinarian. As soon as you get your cat start toilet training. if you find that your cat is urinating in the wrong places spray lemon juice in the area.
Baisicly where you teach them to go.
On the loo
In the house
Yes, but it takes a lot of time, patience, and effort.
Yeah
Yes they can, by stopping the toilet water and putting litter in the toilet.
you are wrong. cats can be trained to use the toilet. it takes about 2 weekz of trainig
No.
yes some cats can do gymnastics if trained
yes....as long you are poty trained
yes....as long you are poty trained
yes that is bad for example i was "toilet trained" at three years old.
Cats are more naturally inclined to use the bathroom outdoors, but will try to find areas that feel like litter such as soft dirt, sand or small gravel. Cats that are trained to use the litter box will still go outside.
Eat hotdogs....... or go to the toilet... are you potty trained???
They drink the toilet water like dogs.
Dogs must be housebroken (toilet trained). They must be trained on how to behave when a stranger visits your house.
Because their not trained to...have you ever seen a wolf use the toilet...it's the same thing for them, their both dogs
