It depends on your phone's model. I have the Samsung Zeal. To do it, go to the following: Media Center>Music and Tones> My Ringtones> select the tone> Save As> Alert Tones> TXT Message.

there is a way to set a voicemail alert on the samsung my shot, you just have to find it properly. I'll provide the instruction so that you can set it >>menu >>settings >> sound settings >>ringer settings >>select voicemail >> it's either you select the my ringtone or my sound >> press ok button to set the music or the ringtone as audible voicemail alert. there!!! that is the step to set the audible message alert for voicemail
yes you can but it can only be the ringtones it provides you but you can get different call tones
turn the volume down or go to the text messages and push the menu button and go to settings and change the alert
First, you record a song from your computer or another thing, but the sound has to be real loud because that wil make a ringtone that needs to alert you. Make sure that when you record it, that it is right next to the speaker. Second, is the easy part, you have to send a pix message to yourself with that sound you want on your ringtone. Third, when you receive your message, you must go to options, and find the, set a ringtone option. Finally, you just name that ringtone and your ready to go! This is a great way to have you favorite ringtones, instead of buying them. You can do this on any phone you want. And on your personal greeting for your voicemail, you can just record it than paying $10 or so for a song.
