well there are several ways. 1- you can run around in an area where you can find pokemon and keep running away until you find a shiny (this can take a LONG time, since the odds of finding a shiny pokemon are 1/8192, I would highly recommend encountering in double grass if you can) 2- you can soft reset for a shiny (hold down the L, R, start and select buttons at the same time, the game will reset to where you last saved). You can save in front of any stationary pokemon (for example, the starters, cobalion, terrakion, virizion, volcarno, etc.) and then soft reset until you find a shiny (like encountering, it may take a LONG time) keep in mind that you can not soft reset for zekrom, reshiram or victini because the game is coded so that they can't be shiny, but everything else can. Another much easier way of getting a shiny is by hatching. If you obtain a foreign pokemon and breed it with yours, then there is a 1/1365 chance of hatching a shiny (for example, a japanese ditto with an english ninetails) this way of obtaining a shiny is much easier then the other 2. Those are the 3 ways of getting a shiny in Pokemon Black and White!
