Its all electronics. Either turn your fuel pump off manually by cutting power supply. In practice, when you turn switch off, hdi pump and injectors stop as well. There is no mechanical valve.
Diagnostic plug is on the right hand side, there is a cover over where you adjust the lights take this off you will find it there
The sub frame does not need to come off in order to remove the gearbox. The gearbox can be removed by removing the engine.
buy the parts yourself, then invest in a haynes manual off eBay for £15. You'll save a fortune on garage bills.
check to see if you have any engine collant in to start. more then likely to be an air lock in the system try bleeding off if not water pump has gone
there , 90,000 miles is what it says in the handbook if its a 2.0 hdi i am not sure on the smaller hdi engines. i would get it done before this i you can because a lot snap before this. Some as low a 60,000. I have a 307 and when finding out about the timing belt also found that the water pump should be changed at the same time as they have about the same life span and, the belt has to be off for it to changed , they don't cost a Lot so i think its worth it saves having the belt back off in the future for a £30 water pump. hope this helped you. beau.
A 306 HDI may continue to run after you switch off the engine if the ignition timing is set improperly. This will force the engine to continue running for several seconds.
there is an automatic tensioner on the lh of the engine that is spring loaded pressing down on the belt above the alternator look for a lug on top rotate clockwise against spring tension to release. main dealers have a specific tool for job as the spring is very strong and needs holding off to remove belt
This is normal in 2002 and later models because of the electronic control box.
unbolt it, take the belt off, take the wires off the alternator and replace with new alternator.
take the belt off the alternator and take out the 3 bolts that hold the alternator to the engine and unplug the wires that plug into it and you have it off.
You might have problem with thermostat which you should fix, or it is a fuse. You should go to mechanic for a check.
