If Vectra B. Remove brake master cylinder from Booster, then gently bend tubing and cylinder away to lift alternator up and out.
hi ,,, had th esame problem and had the alternator changed and this solved the problem ,,,,
Hi. I recently had a problem similar to this on my Vectra, where all my display dropped to zero and the battery light glowed very brightly. I took it to a garage and they diagnosed a faulty alternator, Which wasn't cheap but I've not had any problems since.' *I have had just these same symptoms come on suddenly while driving an astra, mine turned out to be the battery failing with an internal short circuit. When I switched off it was all dead.If the vectra can start up and run after experiencing the loss of amps ,then the alternator is the most likely.
Remove the belt from your 1993 Chevy G 20 alternator. Remove the alternator wiring harness. Remove the retaining bolts from the alternator. Reverse the process to install the new alternator.
the 20 amp alternator field minifuse is loosley connected below the lower 175 amp alternator megafuse on the firewall next to the battery.
probably just a bd alternator. if it's 20 years old that's pretty good.

It depends on the total connected load (KW) of the house. If the total connected load is about 20 KW the alternator generator should be designed to meet peak 20 kw load
Use a digital volt meter set to the 20 volt DC scale. A good alternator will output 13.5 to 15.5 volts.
There are a number of features in the new Google Chrome. If you are not disconnected, it starts a game of dinosaurs.
Disconnect the battery, keep it disconnected for five to 20 minutes, reconnect the battery.
~13-14vdc.
Just had a very similar situation with a 93 Tarus GL 3.0. When I disconnected the positive post on the alternator the 3.1 amp draw dropped down to almost nothing. New alternator fixed the problem. I didn't check the internal cause because the alternator was an Autozone with lifetime warranty from three years back. I did check aproximately 20 ohms continuity from the positive post to the single wire connection by the rear bearing. Hope this helps.
