The only way is through an internet site, I recently connected my copy online as well and I did it for free through a site called gameranger.com, it is a small application, is completely free and uses up little internet. You should download the application and come online ^^ ~Purple
It's an old game, and old games hardly ever had flattering performance or optimization to newer computers.
I don't really know, but I'll go ahead and say what I think. Those 2 games are standalone. Meaning that they don't link. They are the same franchise, but different standalone games. If AoE3 was an expansion pack to AoE2, then yes, but in this case, you can have either AoE2 or 3, or you can have both. They are 2 different games is what I'm trying to say.
Yes, although it isn't as explicit as in AOE2. Blood appears when a unit is shot by a musket or rifle-type weapon, but the blood disappears quickly.
Yes, AoE2 has a skirmish mode where you can use all of the nations, have up to 8 players at a time, teams, your choice of map, your choice of game mode, starting resources, and starting age.
If you suck and just want it completed than press enter, type in how do you turn this on and press enter again. Repeat several times and you will have a car next to your town center that slaughters under your control......Otherwise, don't be a noob ^^
I don't think you can choose Allies/Enemy like you did back in AOE2. But you can assign 'Players' to 'Teams'. Just click Scenario > Player Data and you'll see a table that you can edit.
My copy had 1 CD with both the original and Expansion. This was just the Jewel case version. My friend had the original release Gold Edition and it came with two CDs - the original game and the expansion. There is another Collector's Edition that came with AOE and AOE Gold Editions - it had four CDs. The Jewelcase version of AOE2 Gold Edition has two CDs. Hope this helps/
