I borrowed ($30 deposit) an O2 sensor socket set from Advance Auto Parts. Works like a charm.
The oxygen sensor is located on your lower exaust pipe just before the cat underneath the car
Where is the knock sensor located on a 1999 Subaru Forester?
The oxygen sensor for my 1989 190E 2.6 is located on top of the exhaust just underneath the passenger side of the car. The wiring from the 02 sensor runs up underneath the passenger side floorboard carpet.
Absolutely. Not just on Subaru but every car built that has an oxygen sensor. And they all do.
Both oxygen sensors are located on the catalytic converters. Sensor 1 is in front of the front converter and sensor 2 is either at the rear of the front converter or the front of the rear converter. They are only a foot or so apart.
It's underneath your car. Off the exhaust pipe.
It's underneath the vehicle in the exhaust pipe after the cat convertor.
Knock sensor/vibration sensor
check on the back side of the engine by looking underneath the car, you should see it there
There are 2 oxygen sensors one upstream and one down stream. Both oxygen sensors are located underneath the van. The down stream oxygen sensor is located behind the cataylic converter near the cross pipe and the upstream oxygen sensor is located in front of the cataylic converter in plain sight. They look like spark plugs with either 8", 12", or 14" wires attached to them. The upstream oxygen sensors is easily located underneath the vechicle to the front. The downstream oxygen sensor is not the one lcoated on or close to the cataylic converter.
There are two oxygen sensor for Mitsubishi Outlander. Front Oxygen Sensor and Rear Oxygen Sensor
The knock sensor is located near the idle air control solenoid valve on a 2001 Subaru Forester. The knock sensor is responsible for sensing vibrations caused by engine knock.
The vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is on the transmission of all vehicles.
Changing an oxygen sensor is awkward, not necessarily difficult. The answer really depends on your skill level so without knowing that my answer is meaningless. Auto parts stores lend a socket set for changing oxygen sensors and they do help some. Good luck! --Ken
If the vehicle was built with an oxygen sensor, you will need an oxygen sensor.
It is underneath the car, at the exhaust manifold where it comes off the engine...access it from the bottom
Jack the car up and crawl underneath Use proper safety stands!!
It's integrated into the oxygen sensor. Buy a new oxygen sensor and you get a free oxygen sensor heater.
Fuel level sensor is in the tank with the fuel.
Where is the outside temp sensor on a subaru forester 2007
It resides just past the catalytic converter. Underneath the truck about where the passenger would sit.
The Catalytic converter is located underneath the vehicle right behind the upstream oxygen sensor
Drivers side exhaust pipe just after the exhaust manifold. Best reached from underneath.
Oxygen sensors on Subarus are located on the exhaust pipes before and after the front catalytic converter. They are on the top side, not on the bottom where they would be easy to see, so that they are protected from road damage. --Ken
