I'm guessing you referring to the dust cap probably the easiest way is to gently hammer a flat head between the dust cap and the hub and pry moving around from top to bottom and eventually it'll just pop out but be careful not to pound the screw driver to hard or it will go through the cap

Replacing a wheel bearing?

Depending on the vehicle, there is usually an inner and an outer wheel bearing and some are as easy as jacking up the problematic wheel, removing the hub cap, remove the grease cap, take out the cotter pin, remove the nut, wiggle the wheel and the outer bearing and seal will pop off. But, in a lot of cases, especially if the bearing has failed, the job will be more complex!

Replacing wheel bearings for a 97 is quite easy since the whole wheel bearing comes off, instead of having to pack the bearing yourself. First take the wheel off and then loosen the nuts on the brake caliper so you can slide it off of the rotor. Then take the rotors off. ALl you need to do next is pop the black cap off and there will be a large nut you need to get off.
