Use a T25 Torx screwdriver on a fine screwdriver shaft down the centre of the drive shaft (in the bottom of the square hole). The screw has a right hand thread. This will allow the clutch cover to come off. You will then need a special spanner with two 3/16" pins, 1" apart anda 5/16 hole between them, to screw off the two clutch counterweights. Again a right hand thread.
The finest screwdriver shaft I could buy was "just" too tight and I had to open out the centre of the square, very slightly to allow the s/d shaft to fit in.
Good luck.

Homelite string trimmers are inexpensive brand that you can probably buy at home depot. Depending on how much trimming you have to do in your lawn, should help you decide on how much you want to put down on a trimmer. I suggest going with a Stihl trimmer or a Poulan Pro. You can probably find a bottom of the line residential unit from these brands for about what you would pay for a homelite maybe a few dollars more, but worth it.http://www.weedwackerstore.com
The Champion dj7y, when used in a Homelite string trimmer is gapped at .025. I do not know if it is a safe bet to extrapolate from trimmer to chainsaw, but I would think so.
A whipper snipper is related to a string trimmer by the fact that they both are the same thing. In other words, whipper snipper is a synonym for a string trimmer.
Yes, unless you have an older Homelite from the late 90's, all of the expand-it attachments are universal, which, in my opinion, makes the expand-it a very attractive option. The attachments fit Toro, Ryobi, Poulon, Homelite, Troy-Bilt, Huskqvarna, etc.
A cordless string trimmer is used to keep the edge of your lawn neat. You can also use a gas powered trimmer..
It is easy to string a dual line Remington trimmer by following the instructions in the manual. The manual was supplied with the trimmer when purchased.
Depends on the Model of stihl trimmer you have. The 45 home trimmer from stihl takes .080 but from that model to the larger more expensive ones the string size gets larger.
You can use a string trimmer to clean up smaller hedges that aren't too woody, but you would get a much cleaner job with a real hedge trimmer. A string trimmer will cause shredding, instead of the clean cut of a hedge trimmer. There are several string trimmers on the market with split shafts that allow you to add additional tools. You may wish to try one that has an optional hedge trimmer attachment.
You can buy parts for a cordless string trimmer at www.blackanddecker.com. Another site is lawn-and-garden.hardwarestore.com/78-492-string-trimmers-electric.aspx
The best electric string trimmer based on the consumer report is the Stihl FSE 60. They say it can handle as tough of weeds as any gas trimmer but you do have to contend with the chord. For a 2 stroke string trimmer, the best one is Echo SRM-225. It is light and tough on weeds.
