In our rapidly deteriorating food production climate, far and away the best way to get food is to grow or otherwise obtain it yourself. Healthy replacements for broken food include raising your own chickens for eggs and chicken, goats for meat and milk (real, raw, unsterilized milk; that tastes just like cow when handled properly), hosting a bee hive, and permaculture or gardening for flora. Cost effective alternates abound, and are web-searchable, including owning shares in a goat (or cow) herd and buying local organic eggs.
These alternates are growing daily due to the depletion of nutrients from our food supply, and the deteriorated state of CAFO protein; you may also wish to investigate a local food co-op, as these are popping up everywhere. The food may initially sound more expensive, but when insurance premiums and medical bills are taken into account, not to mention the quality of life factor, these costs will be reflected in their true light.
The same as it does today. Its food you idiot. The same as it does today. Its food you idiot.
Food
Most dog food has by products, corn, vegetables, rice and vitamins and minerals. There is an assortment of food brands out there today, with different ingredients.
The food in the 1940's was very similar to the food that we eat today but less processed. Many people would enjoy eggs, toast, and cereal for breakfast just as we do today.
