How do you get from Grand Army Plaza Brooklyn to Grand Central Station?

That depends on where in Brooklyn you're going (see the Related Link below for a complete New York City subway map).

The subway lines that run between Manhattan and Brooklyn are the 4 and 5 (of the 4-5-6, the dark green line), the A and C (of the A-C-E, the blue line), the B, D and F (of the B-D-F-M, the orange line), the N, R and Q (of the N-R-Q-W, the yellow line), the 2 and 3 (of the 1-2-3, the red line) and the L train (the grey line).

The 4 and 5

The 4-5-6 line stops at 42nd Street-Grand Central.

The A or C

To get to the A or C, take the S shuttletrain (color grey) west across 42nd Street, from Grand Central (East 42nd) to Times Square (West 42nd). Then walk through the tunnel that connects the 42nd Street-Times Square Station to the 42nd Street-Port Authority Bus Terminal Station. At the 42nd Street-Port Authority Station, get the Downtown A or C.

The B, D or F

Take the Downtown 6 train to Bleeker Street. On the Downtown 6 only (not the Uptown 6) you can transfer from the Bleeker Street Station to the Broadway-Lafayette Station.

Get the Downtown B, D or F trains at the Broadway-Lafayette Station.

The N, R or Q

Take the S shuttle train (color grey) west across 42nd Street, from Grand Central (East 42nd) to Times Square (West 42nd). At the Times Square Station, transfer to the Downtown N, R or Q trains.

The 2 and 3

Take the S shuttle train (color grey) west across 42nd Street, from Grand Central (East 42nd) to Times Square (West 42nd). Get the Downtown 2 or 3 at the 42nd Street-Times Square Station.

The L train

Take the Downtown 4-5-6 to 14th Street-Union Square. It's preferable to take the 4 or 5, not the 6, as the 4 and 5 are express trains and it's only one stop from Grand Central to 14th Street. It's four stops on the 6local train.

Get the Brooklyn-bound L train at 14th Street-Union Square.

At Grand Central Station, you can get the Downtown 4 or the 5 (of the 4-5-6, the green line) to Brooklyn.

For other subway lines to Brooklyn, you will have to transfer from Times Square. Take the S shuttle train (color code grey) west across 42nd Street, from Grand Central (East 42nd) to Times Square (West 42nd).

At the Times Square Station, you can transfer to the Downtown 1 or 2 (of the 1-2-3, the red line) to Brooklyn.

Or, you can catch the Downtown A or C (of the A-C-E, the blue line).

Or, you can catch the Downtown N-R-Q-W (the yellow line).

Bergen Street is like 5 or 6 miles long, so it's kind of hard to say, without knowing a cross street or building number.

There are two Bergen Street stations. There's one on the F train (of the B-D-F-M, the orange line) and the G train (the light green line), at Smith Street. There's another on the 2 and 3 trains (of the 1-2-3, the red line), at Flatbush Avenue.

I'll provide directions to those, but you may have a lot of walking to do. Depending on where on Bergen Street you're going, it may be a much, much shorter walk if you take the A, C, 3 or 4 trains.

To the Bergen Street station on the F and G (at Smith Street): take the Manhattan-bound 7 train (the purple line), 1 stop, from 42nd Street-Grand Central to 42nd Street-Bryant Park. You can also just walk to the 42nd Street-Bryant Park station. It's only 3 or 4 blocks west on 42nd Street.

Transfer at 42nd Street-Bryant Park to the Downtown Ftrain, and take the Downtown F to Bergen Street.

To the Bergen Street station on the 2 and 3 trains (at Flatbush Avenue): take the Downtown 4 or 5 trains (of the 4-5-6, the dark green line) from 42nd Street-Grand Central to Fulton Street. There are four different Fulton Street stations in Manhattan, and they are all connected to each other, so you can transfer without exiting the subway system.

Transfer to the 2 or 3 trains, and take the Downtown 2 or 3 from Fulton Street to Bergen Street.

Answer 4

Take the Uptown C to Fulton Street in Manhattan. Transfer at Fulton Street to the Uptown 4 or 5 express trains, 3 stops, to 42nd Street-Grand Central (Fulton Street ---> Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall ---> 14th Street-Union Square ---> 42nd Street-Grand Central).

Take the #4 subway from Grand Army Plaza in the Uptown Direction and get off at the Grand Central Station - 42nd Street. There is no need to change subways or take any long walks.
