Go to the rear license plate - above it is a spot to open it with the key/trunk release handle (I just found this out, so haven't seen which we have) anyhow, once you get in the trunk, there is a cable on the the left (drivers side) that you pull which opens the driver side door which allows you to get in, open the hood and then boost the battery. Also, when you park the vehicle you need to park it in Reverse (if manual transmission) as this tells the computer to shut down. If you park it in 1st with the emergency brake on (obviously), the computer keeps running and does drain the battery. Also short trips kill the battery. Go for at least a 20 minute drive to keep the battery fully charged. Besides - who doesn't like driving their Vette! :-) Hope this helps someone!
Replace the battery or jump the battery.
The answer is obvious. The battery is dead and will not turn the engine over.
Charge it, test it, replace it.
By inserting the key in the door lock and turning.
1986 Corvette. Car drove fine a week ago. parked it in the garage and today totally dead. Where fron here?
you pull the release latch on the drivers side of the instrument cluster, it is all mechanical and does not need battery power
If your battery goes completely dead and, therefore, the door will not open there is valet parking key (if lost order one from your Chevy dealership). Unlock truck under the license. If its a convertible like mine there is a string to pull on the drivers trunk if its a coupe i heard that it is behind the headrest.. great luck do not have the car towed to the dealership they will charge you 25 I hear some 2005 models have a powered rear deck lock that will not open if the battery is dead.
Dead battery - no gas - ?????
The battery is located behind your driver seat. Pull the seat forward and lift the door up behind the seat disconnect the positive and negative cables then remove the hold down bar and lift out the battery.
of course; batteries go dead all the time, there's no such thing as a battery that lasts forever!
No, it is a mechanical release not electrical.
Behind passenger seat is a lock box. Unlock and inside is a lever. Pull down and trunk will unlock.
