Depending on where you are, this may not be the impediment that you might think it is. If you have been working, and doing other interesting things, and you are now motivated to go to school, how bad is that? I would rather have students like you than to have swarms of young people who aren't ready or interested. Contact some schools of interest. You may be surprised.

To become an MD you need 4 years of collage and 4 years in med school. A very few do it in less time (7 years total), quite a few take longer.
