If the lasagna falls apart as you lift it out, it is too hot. Let it cool more and set up.

A suugestion: After it's finished cooking, take it out to let it cool for an hour or so, then reheat it for 10-15 minutes just before serving.

Add a drop of olive or vegetable oil to the spaghetti and mix it in. A thin slab of butter will also help keep the noodles from sticking together.

Another trick is to put in a teaspoon (or a little more) of salt in the water before it boils and before you put the spaghetti in.

If the pasta is sticking together the chances are it's being cooked too long. When cooking pasta keep an eye on it or try cut down the cooking time. Even 30 seconds - 1 minute can make all the difference. Also, try and boil the pasta in a bit more water.

You need to use plenty of water - at least 2 litres (4 1/2 pints) for each 250g (8 oz) pasta. The water must be rapidly boiling when you add the pasta, which you should stir immediately, pushing the pasta off the bottom of the pan. Once the water has returned to the boil it should only need the occasional stir to keep the pasta off the bottom of the pan. Never cover the pan while pasta is cooking.

Never, ever start pasta cooking in cold water and always drain as soon as it reaches al dente consistency.
