I ran AVG and it got rid of it.
AVG got its update just a day ago. I ran a scan today and AVG found, asked, and "healed" the two infected files. If nothing else, Just delete C:windows\system\a.exe and C: windows\system\bridge.dll. (Empty Trash, of course.)
I undrstand they're spyware. I JUST did this and don't know if they might reappear.
I ran AVG too but a system file "C:\windows\a.exe" is infected and it can't clean it.
Try cleaning in safe mode.
PSW.Briss.A and B hide themselves in the system restore. They keep coming back because your computer is creating back-ups for them. To completely destroy them turn off system restore. (right click on my computer, go to the system restore tab and un-tick the system restore box) Then restart your computer, run AVG or Norton and it should be able to clean it fully. Activate system restore again once you have done this.
It's best to get rid of this Trojan as soon as you can because it's rather nasty. It slows down internet explorer by about 60%, fills your screen with pop-ups, and is also potentially hacking your passwords.
Turn OFF your system restore and restart in safe mode, run the virus program, it WILL remove the 2 programs that are part of the briss virus, a.exe and bridge.dll, and run spybot s&d - sd resident, and block the item from getting back in your registry, did this to fix alot of peoples computers that i have found this on, restart the system and turn your system restore on.. please note... you MIGHT not be able to use the restore date that the virus was in. if that is no big deal, just delete all your restore dates upto the one you MIGHT want to create after you cleaned your system.
