If your lip is cut and it is swollen, you can dissolve salt in warm water in a cup and use a cotton ball to dab the water onto the cut of your lip. This will burn a lot but it will help heal the wound. If your lips are just swollen but not cut, avoid using warm water as that will only make it worse as the warmth will cause more blood to rush to the area and induce more swelling. You can also try a bag of ice, or wrap a few ice cubes into a slightly damp cloth and hold it against your lips for approximately ten minutes. Give it a few minutes and the swelling should go down.
If you don't want to use the ice, you can also take a spoon and put it in the freezer for a few minutes, then apply it onto the swollen area (be careful that your lip is not wet or else the spoon might stick) and hold that position until the swelling decreases. You can use anything that is freezing cold, be it ice cubes, a spoon from the freezer or a pack of frozen vegetables - as long as it is really cold. The swelling should reduce after a few minutes of absolute coldness.
To get rid of a swollen lip, you may use a cold or hot compress to reduce the swelling. Aloe Vera can also be used because it has several anti-inflammatory properties that can reduce swelling.
Cold cloth, ice. Maybe put some vaseline or lip balm on it if it's split to help prevent it getting infected. As it happens i was just researching the topic because i have a swollen lip xD Got rocks thrown at us because of the way we were dressed :D (Y) Adele xx
Put ice on it, 10 minutes on and 10 minutes off. If it hurts or feels too cold, stop. Do this a few times during the day.

Advil, ibuprofen These are anti inflammatory drugs that will help ease the swelling. The best bet is still good old crushed ice.
Put a few cubes of ice in a plastic bag or anything waterproof. Hold this up to your lip until the swelling starts to gradually reduce. Hope it helped :).
It depends what the lip is swollen from. If it is due to trauma try applying an ice pack to decrease the inflammation. If it is due to an allergic reaction you may have to use an antihystamine and/ or remove the allergen
Depends on how fast swelling occurred. Could be a type of allergic reaction called angionuerotic oedema, but if it does not cross the midline of your face then it is probably an infection and if lip was the first swollen area it is probably from an infected tooth.
ice (:
Yes mildly

Then if the lip was broken and swollen then you have give epinephrine shot.
I got my lip pierced a year ago this month, and smoked occasionally, but didnt have my lips swollen. I tried my best to keep my lip hole covered (with my tongue, lol). Your lip is swollen because the smoke/cigarette/etc, lol burns the inner lining of your fresh hole.

You would have a swollen lip, a possible abscess and nothing to show for it.
Kiss it. It may turn into a princess.
Well if you take care of it right it will look like your original lip. If not it will get swollen.
Smoking cause wrinkles on the upper lip, and darken both.
