I got rid of it with the free AVG virus software. * Download the free AVG virus scanner, disable system restore if running XP, scan with AVG, turn system restore back on, scan with AVG, should be gone. * AVG found and destroyed Downloader.Esepor.J on my Win98 laptop. It was a driveby download that dropped U070104.exe into my Windows\Temp folder. AVG also found "Update12.js" in my Windows folder and destroyed it as well. Both were picked up by AVG (the FREE version, works swell!) as they were dumped onto my drive while browsing the web. The windows GUI vanished and a black screen with a red dialog box informed me that AVG had found some funky stuff. I then ran a full scan and AVG busted caps on the bad mojo. Get you some at: www.grisoft.com. Look for the free version, it's just as good, no, better, than any AV software I could pay for. Don't bother upgrading to the AVG Pro version. You'll be out some dough and won't get any better protection, just extra convenience features that cheap people like me can live without. * I think it is possible to protect your computer by creating an empty file (update12.js) in the Windows directory (ex. with notepad) and then write-protect it. I also recommend the download of SpyBot Search & Destroy. This software helps you get rid of all kind of pests.
