It does not go away easily. The best thing you can do is just brush your tongue and teeth like you normally would every day. If it does not go away in a day or two, see a doctor.
my doctor has just advised me ,with my `black furry tongue` ,``go and buy some fresh pineapple and eat it,simple as that.``26.09.08, doing just that as we speak right now ,will keep you posted as to the resulrs & timelines, dingo56, see ya.

∙ 13y agoAccording to webmd, black tongue or hairy tongue can be caused by antibiotics. I would call your doctor on Monday for any advise he/she might be able to give. It said it's not a serious condition and is very rare.
Don't you just hate antibiotic side effects? I was taking Levaquin last week and lost my vision for two days. Not fun at all.
