There is actually a way to stop it but it is very very hard, its chances are almost the same as finding a suitable donor. The process takes time and money as well. In our blood, there is something that is lack of, that is why leukemia happens and if you are able to find another match for thepatients blood, they would be encouraged to donate blood and then the hospital would extract the 'something' which the patient need and finally, inject it into the patient. However, large amount of 'it' is needed and there is a very rare chances that you might find a match. It takes plenty of money as well for the equipments to extract the 'something'. However, some could not work because there MIGHT be things that are inside of the patient that causes the red blood cells to be 'eaten'. i forgot what the 'something' is and this might not answer your question... sorry...
At this moment in time, there is no known way to prevent leukemia. Researchers are still searching for ways to prevent it. In fact, we don't know what causes it yet.
There is no proven leukemia preventive. You could make a comprehensive effort to avoid all the risk factors such as exposure to certain chemicals, however it seems to run in some families. Some people think a healthy lifestyle and certain diets can help prevent it. If you have a family history of leukemia, you are at greater risk to develop it.
Sorry about the typos..Very tired...Going to bed,,,been on here way too long tonight!!
Unfortuantely, the diseases in tyhe Leukemia group are still quite puzzling to the Medival Community. I am a Leukemia patient and I must disagree with the previous answer. There are chemicals and agents in cigarette smoke that CAN be causes of cancer of the blood which is actually caused by a mutation or damage to the Stem Cells that produce blood cells. Benzene is the deadliest chemical that is used world wide today and has been ever since petroleum became a household word. If something contain "petroleum products" or derivitives, there IS benzene in it. Paint, Oil, gasoline, some food products (yes, your burger toppings have petroleum products in them) so does your Chewing Gum and even Ice Cream.
I said it can be prevented from not smoking but there is no known cause of Leukemia my daughters oncologist said nobody truly knows how it comes about. Of course smoking can increase the risk of any cancer so the less smoking in a household the better. My child comes from a household none of us smoke or have ever smoked and she was diagnosed so nobody knows exactly where Leukemia comes from. I think if they did there would be a cure out there.
it cant, but you can lower the risk by:not smoking, avoiding a chemical called benzene(which is commonly used in the chemical industry)and maybe chemotherapy which can cause it and fix it.
Leukemia does not come from smoking it does not come from chemicals so saying that lowers the risk is crazy its fact that they have no idea where it comes from. My 6yr old is a Luekmia surrivior and I have never in my life smoked she was never exposed to any bad chemicals and the dotors said it can happen to anyone any child at anytime. The highest age risk for Childhood Cancer is between ages 4 through 7 but before or affter that age is not un common. My daughter was diagnosed at 14 months. Leukemia has no absolute known causes. To prevent one self from it would , in all practicality, be impossible but the statistics of having it or contracting it are fairly low. There are approximately 200,000 cases a year diagnosed in the United States.
Unfortunately, there is no known way to prevent leukemia. The best way to avoid getting cancer is to avoid known causes, such as smoking and exposure to radiation.
Leukemia is not infectious. The only way to 'get' it, is to develop it. Its may be genetic and influenced very much by environmental factors such as radiation, foods, etc.
chemotherapy, if needed stem cell transplant
you cant
If you are referring to medically, there are many ways to treat Leukemia and it depends on the type.
Gingivitis is also one of the early signs of leukemia in some children
Leukemia
There are many different types of leukemia. Some are acute and some are more chronic. Hairy cell leukemia is one of the worst types. It matures faster than most.

Leukemia is type of cancer, some say it is caused by a bomb, it is not for sure though.
There are a number of different kinds of leukemia, and they may have different causes. What is clear is that the causes of leukemia are unclear. There are some good arguments made for increased risk of leukemia based on genetic predisposition(it "runs in your family"), some viruses, exposure to some kinds of chemicals and also exposure to ionizing radiation, either natural or artificial. Leukemia is a not-so-nice form of lymphoma (cancer), and we're still on the trail in an attempt to nail down actual causes. A link is provided to the Wikipedia article on leukemia.

Leukemia is NOT and infection. You cannot catch it. It is something that happens due to some kind of damage to the stem cells that are responsible for blood production.
Some of the characteristics of childhood leukemia include: fatigue, bruising or bleeding easily, coughing, shortness of breath, fever or infection, weakness, headaches, vomiting, and rashes.
There are 2 ways of understanding this difference. 1) Firstly, one of the causes of leucocytosis could be leukemia. But there are several other less-severe causes of leucocytosis such as infection, hemorrhage, corticosteroid treatment etc. So, leukemia is one of the types of leucocytosis. 2) Secondly, leukemia is when large number of IMMATURE WBC's are in circulation. In leucocytosis, the WBC's are normal and mature. This is a very important point of difference.
