Random background music has to be coming from someplace.
If the place is an application, and you don't want it to be running, press command tab and select the app, and press command Q to quit it.
If the application is starting by itself, go in to System Prefs and click 'Accounts'
Click your account. click 'Startup Items'
Select the app you don't want to start automatically.
Click the - (minus) sign in the lower part of the pane.
Close preferences.
Some background music is sent by programs that are monitoring email or messages. If that is the case, open the app, such as 'Growl' or 'Messages' or 'Mail' or perhaps a chat app such as SKYPE or MSN Messenger or Yahoo Messenger, and open its prefs. Turn off or change the pref that notifies you that you have new mail or a new message.
It may not apply to you, but I have an option of "mute audio" If you can find it, that's your answer!

The Big Mac is a trademark that helped make the McDonald's image. Therefore, it is extremely unlikely that it will ever go away. It is just a rumor.
If you want to change your layout/background...you willl have to delete your old one, before adding on the new one.
