To remove melted plastic from a wood floor, you will need an iron and brown paper sacks or brown craft paper. Lay the craft paper over the plastic. Apply the hot iron to the paper and apply pressure just until the plastic becomes soft. Once the plastic is soft, peel it off the wood floor.
Pull the paper completely off, then remove the residue with Lift-Off or Goo-Gone
Use Goof Off.
A little white vinegar is good and won't leave a residue which could be harmful to pets and small children. Finish off with a damp paper towel.
A wife.
Try using Murphy's Oil Soap to wash off the wood to remove the residue.
Lowe's should have fixed their mistake and any damage caused to the floor.

I wait till it's totally dry (3-4 hours) then sand it off.
Pull paper part off, use Goo-Gone for any residue.
Use acetone.
Try Eucalyptus oil :)
