http://home.earthlink.net/~vicrocha This guy will fix your ABS unit for a little over $100. I sent him my unit and he promptly fixed it. Highly recommend it. Get it scanned first, mine were on because they were disable to conserve power when my battery was low
Fix the problem and the light will go out. Normally on Volvo 850's the ABS sensor goes out (actually a wire comes loose inside the unit) this sensor is under the hood on the ABS unit.
Is your speedometer not working? If your abs light or tracs light is on it may be the brake control module causing your speedo not to work.
usually at the outer ends of the rear axle behind the backing plate
i have volvo v70 2001 she has abs lights come one for the last six weeks now my car wont start at all can the abs cause some think like that. thanks
It is probably the ABS controller under the hood, replacing it with a rebuilt one should clear the light and give you full function brakes again.
You can get ABS codes for your Volvo at your local Volvo dealership. You can also find the ABS codes in most Volvo service manuals.
the check engine light goes on and all the other lights ABS, brake, trac keep coming on and going off
The abs and asc warning lights come on when there is a problem with the ABS computer or the ABS Module you should have it taken to the dealer immediatly if your car is an automatic. The computer also will prevent your speedometer from working and thus cause problems with your transmission computer in 3rd and 4th gear. If your car is a manual you are okay to drive but your Safety features such as the ABS and traction control (ASC) will not work :(.
search the web. there is someone in California who does nothing but fix ABS controllers. His website explains how to remove it and he sends an email explaining how to re-install it. best $125 I ever spent on my car (local mechanic quoted $500).
Replace the ABS module - from what I read it will cost about 900 bucks
it could be abs break unit
A person can take the ABC light off the dashboard on a Volvo 2000 S70 by connecting an OBDII code reader. It can both read error codes and clear them so that warning lights go out.
