You can't do it manually. The operation is entirely controlled by the vehicle's on-board computer which - when it senses wheel-slip from the front drive-wheels - automatically sends a signal that engages the drive shaft to the rear wheels, placing it in all-wheel drive mode.
front wheel drive or all wheel drive
Yes,make sure to check owners manual for correct method
ALL CR-V's are Front Wheel Drive - if you have a CR-V that is an All Wheel Drive (AWD) there is a simple way to tell. Look under the rear of your vehicle, if you see a drive shaft coming back to the rear axle it is All Wheel Drive. No driveshaft and no axle = strictly Front Wheel Drive only.
Where is the rear wheel abs sensor on a 1998 Honda CRV?

No, it will not.
Yes , the 2000 Honda CRV has an interference engine ( according to Gates - they manufacture timing belts etc. )
The front wheel bearings on the CRV are not integral with the hub therefore must be pressed on at a machine shop. It would be best if you are a novice to consult a manual.
how hard is it to replace a rear wheel bearing 1999 Honda crv. this crv does not have rear axle's in it. thank you
Look underneath the rear of the vehicle. If you see a driveshaft extending from the front of the vehicle and entering a differential gear housing on the rear axle, then it is a 4WD. the absence of a driveshaft and differential means it is a 2WD (front wheel drive).
