there are screws in the door, and holding the handle on. You can get to the ones holding on the handle by pulling off the covers on each side of the door handle inside.
Need to know if it is an inside or outside door handle.
You can replace the inside drivers door handle by removing the door panel. With the door panel removed the door handle mechanism will be visible. Remove the linkage from the door handle. Remove the door handle retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new door handle.
The problem is that the inside door handle is broken. Although the inside door handle needs replacement you can still open the door by pulling on the lock lever above the handle.
Using the handle which opens the doors. Instead of pulling it as you do to open, you push it in until it clicks.
The handle bezel pops out then you can see how it unbolts.
yes remove door panel drill rivets replace with new door handel from gm dealership
there are two 10mm bolts, one on the outside rim of the door next to handle; the other is on the inside. to get to inside one you have to remove door panel and the inside door panel. There are several bolts there as well. The door handle bolt is kind of hidden but its behind the window rail remove it and the linkage clips after pulling the handle out of the door. it maybe easier to replace the door locking clip after reinserting handle back into door. And while your in there it is a good idea to lube everything with a dry lithium grease so dirt and crude don't build up on them as much and everything runs smooth. Good luck.
The driver side door handle of my cadillac cimerron broke on the inside. How am i able to fix that without going out and buying new parts for it?
The drivers door panel has 12 retaining clips. Pry outward on each clip, one at a time. Remove the inside door handle retaining screws.
try pulling up on handle before pushing button. the button is a locking device, and needs the tension released Repeated pulling on the hand brake will slide the grip over the button. Try sliding the plastic/rubber grip down the handle to expose the button.
