I feel your pain! I had the same problem and tried putting the inner pad first with the spring on with a rubber band to keep it from coming off. Then all I had to do was position the outer pad onto the other two holes. Got it to work, but relatively simple once I figured it out. This is the first time I've worked on this type of vehicle, so hope that helps you out. BTW the rubber band was on the inner part of the pad on the metal backing, and eventually will break and not do any harm whatsoever. If anyone knows a simpler way, PLEASE, let us both know!
