I am working on a similar truck, a Chevy Astro van. The fuel filter for it is mouinted on the l/s frame rail in front of the leaf spring mount. Hope this helps
Unscrew it from the mount under the plastic shield just behind a door behind the front bumper
the fuel filter on your astro van is mount along the inside of the frame rail on the driver side(just behind the driver door)under the van. it's a cyliner looking cantainer.
The mount is located on the drivers side of the vehicle. remove wheel and plastic cover to access.
If it is where the filter meets up to the mount there actually is a gasket there. If it past the mount you may need to replace the filter housing.
the Chevy parts man at the Chevy dealer can help you out on that one.
behind the plastic splash guard behind the drivers side wheel right where the transmission meets the frame there is a mount
Passenger side of the vehicle under the hood, directly below the windshield wiper mount. The filter is actually located below the plastic air vent intake cover. The cover mounts with several plastic push type pins. Be careful when you lift this up as a heavy rubber gasket for the vent rim is directly below, and can be tough to get back on the metal frame it rests on. Once the plastic vent cover is off you can see the filter. Directly below the filter is the plastic blade portion of the blower motor.
Fuel filter is located by the fuel tank, near the frame. I first thought it never had one, but I took it too my trustworthy mechanic in which found it and I got the part from Partsource and he installed it. The old one was in nasty condition.AnswerIT DOES NOT HAVE A FILTER. THE ONLY FILTERING THAT IS DONE IS IN THE FUEL TANK. IT HAS A SOCK IN THE TANK ON THE RETURN LINE. Response to above answer: The Chevy Metro does have a fuel filter. A quick search on Google Products for "fuel filter Chevy metro" will bring up a listing for the disputed item, and includes a picture of the device.
The fuel filter is located under the driverside of the vehicle around the area of the transmission mount to frame and is mounted on the insde of the uniframe rail
Though I haven't done this myself, I think you'll need to change the frame mount. The Camaro was available with a big block so the mounts do exist. In particular the Camaro Yenko with the 427. install camaro frame mounts and it will work
