First you need to donate 500,00 bells to the town fund to get a fountain. Talk to Pelly in Town Hall the NEXT day and she will tell you your generous donations will go towards the building of a new fountain. (It will take a week for the fountain to be "built". Mind you, you can't get your fountain until AFTER you've done the bridge.) When the fountain is finally in place, you go to the fountain and get your axe out. Swing the axe and it should land in the fountain. Your chances of getting the golden axe are completely random. After throwing your axe into the fountain, Serena, a VERY tempermental "goddess" will appear. There is no rhyme of reason to the way you answer her questions or what answer she prefers, although she does seem to appreciate honesty. Sometimes she will simply give you your axe back; other times she will keep it. Keep trying. Good luck!!

∙ 15y agoon level 2, when u start out, turn around. u will see tiny hills. pick up a rock and throw it as far as you can. u then have to turn around and walk straight into the 1st thing u see. then take out the disc and put in Halo 3. it will say disc unreadable, take it out, put in Animal Crossing city folk, and u will have the golden ax. ;)

∙ 11y ago(I haven't tried this) Apparently, if you take a normal axe and throw it/drop it into the fountain it comes back out gold.
I don't know for sure, but it's worth a try.
