There are many ways I have figured out after 2 years of trying to get my subs right where I want them. Buy a good Amp such as PowerBass which is really good for the price. On the Amp turn the Bass up all the way and adjust some of the other settings until you have its as deep as a bass as you want. Also buy an after market CD player with more watts that will help alot. Also even if you only have a 2-Channel Amp buy another speaker and bridge it anyways, it will be fine. Also look into Kickers instead of subs they give a much bigger thump than subs. Check the settings on your CD player turn the Bass and Treble up, and is it help at all set the balanceing more toward the rear of your car to make the subs get more power. Never for get to get good speakers in your doors too. After i took the stock ones out and put in Rockford Fostgate speakers it was like haveing another sub in my car. Also remember each CD will play different with subs depending on what speed it was burnt on. Eventually you will get it right where you want it... I did now everythign in my car is sakeing lol I have a pickup with 2 12"'s and 1 10" on a 2-Channel 800 watt Powerbass Amp...
Dont forget a capacitor or a bette battery if you need it. Also a good wireing kit will make a major difference as well as using a bigger gauge wires from your subs to your Amp.
hope this helps...

Most Subwoofers are made to be put in SUV's because of the endless amounts of room.
They go in the rear deck. You most likely have some small ones there already. If you are asking this question, you have most likely turned the BASS all the way up and completely fried them so they sound like a duck and buzz a lot. Time to put better ones in. Get the best brand-name car speakers you can afford. The mid-ranges (in the doors) most likely will also need replacing, too. For the sub-woofers, look at the underside from the trunk, and you can see what will fit without modification.
No, but it is nice if you want to play loud music.
