Polaris rangers do not have any steering fluid. You could grease the steering shaft while you're in there though.
drink a six pack of beer then throw a gallon of gas on jet ski and ignite
Universal Joints (U-Joints) can wear out.
preferably before the day comes when you find the tail shaft laying on the ground under the car because you waited too long to change the uni-joints
there are 4 bolts on the upper drive shaft where it connects to the transmission and 4 bolts on the lower part of the drive shaft where it connects to the differential the drive shaft must be dropped to change a u joint and bolt back up the way it came off
this is the bolt that pinches together one of the joints on the shaft this will be a joint that slides into another
It has four cv joints, two in each front axle shaft.
I believe Polaris only made 300 4x4's with an air cooled 2 stroke, which uses injected two stroke oil. There is no oil in the crankcases. Some of the 400LC motors have a small amount of gear oil in a cavity between the recoil and crankcase for the balancer shaft. Your polaris will have a small dipstick on the right side close to the counter shaft sprocket for the transmission. which one? U-joints, Upper/Lower joints, Shaft joint. etc? have u ever change a joint, or replace any major parts, or work on vehicles? if not take it to repair shop. its too risky for an inexperience to work on vehicle. lost of life or limb can happen, lose your eye sight, hearing, etc.....
