Two 12 mm bolts hold the rear end of the seat, one on each side. These are easily removed. Then lift the seat up and pull it back a bit. Then it becomes free.

Remove the seat. You will find the battery under it. Remove the negative terminal first, then the positive terminal.
Remove the two nuts at the side of the saet using a hex tool and also the smaller nut at the back. Slide the seat back and it's free.
Under the front seat.
On my Shadow it is behind the seat.

If its an Aero, it's beneath the main seat. Remove the bold from the back of the small seat, and the two allen-head screws holding the main seat, and they'll come off as one unit. You'll have to remove a plastic cover to see the battery.

The 2006 Honda CBF 250 seat is held in place by four retaining bolts. Remove the retaining bolts to remove the seat.
Remove the bolts holding the seat on each side and then slide the seat back.
