I know of dogs that have very little smell. The typical dog smell comes from oils in the coat. For instance a dog that loves water, like a Labrador Retriever will smell very much like a dog, because he will have more oils in his coat to keep is waterproof. Same with an Otterhound, very smelly dogs. I have a toy breed, A Russian Bolonka named Charley, who's coat smells fabulous but his breath is absolutely terrible. Our Great Pyrenees Ralph, however has very little "doggy smell" at all because his coat is very wooly. A Viszla is dog that doesn't smell bad normally.
dogs have a nerve in there body that gives them the color of there coat and there coat.
No, dogs smell with their noses.
# he/she rolled in poop # he/she rolled in something dead # they need a bath # their hair is falling out # they shouldn't be let out any more # they stepped in their pee # they killed somwthing and ate it and it's their breath # they licked their self thats all i can think of: /.........
A opposum will play dead, but I have never known them to smell rotten. In fact, playing dead doesn't always work out to their advantage. I have many possums in my are, and everytime my dogs encounter them, they try playing dead, but my dogs aren't fooled. Poor possums.
A dogs sense of smell is so acute that it can smell a person who was in a place days after.
geranium flowers.... dogs loathe this smell!
No, oxygen is an odorless gas. Even dogs can't smell it.
If the dog is a outside dog just being in the sun running and playing also dogs tend to roll on dead frogs. If a indoor dog then it could be that it just needs a bath. They can also smell from playing with other dogs.
They may be eating their own or other dogs feces because of a nutritional reason. They may not be getting the nutrition they need from their diet so they eat the other animals feces as a way of getting the nutrients. Mother dogs eat pups' feces to avoid attracting predators. Puppies may do it as part of their exploration of the world, and the behavior can be reinforced by the attention it attracts.
no because usually dogs feet doesn't smell!!!!!
