Take the LIRR (Long Island Railroad) from the Hicksville station to Penn Station. See the Related Link below for schedules and fares.

The two subway lines that stop at Penn Station are the 1-2-3 (the red line) and the A-C-E (the blue line). The 1-2-3 stops at the east side of Penn Station (at 7th Avenue) and the A-C-E stops at the west side (at 8th Avenue).

Both of these subway lines will drop you off very close to 221 Cadman Plaza, so you can just take whichever one you see first.

Transfer at Penn Station to the Downtown 2 or 3trains, or the Downtown A train (you can also take the C but it's a local train, so it will take longer to get there).

Take the 2 or 3 to Clark Street, or the A(or C) to High Street.

Google Maps has two listings for 221 Cadman Plaza: 221 Cadman Plaza East and 221 Cadman Plaza West. Since I don't know which one you're going to, I will give walking directions for both.

From the 2 or 3

The 2 or 3 to Clark Street will drop you off at the corner of Clark and Henry Streets. Walk two blocks east (towards the Brooklyn War Memorial Park) on Clark Street to Cadman Plaza West. Then either walk north on Cadman Plaza West to 221, or walk straight east through the park to Cadman Plaza East. The address 221 Cadman Plaza East is just ever-so-slightly north of where Clark Street is.

From the A or C

The A or C to High Street will drop you off at Cadman Plaza East, which forms the eastern border of Brooklyn War Memorial Park. To get to 221 Cadman Plaza West, walk west to Cadman Plaza West, and north to 221.

To get to 225 Cadman Plaza East, walk south on Cadman Plaza East to 221.
