In Hinduism, the only way to get to God is not to find God, not to meet God, not to see God but to realize God, just as it is in many other religions. It is called God-realization. What is God-realization in Hinduism? It is escaping from the cycle of death and rebirth, transcending the ignorance - we are not the body, we are not the mind, we are not the ego, we are the Divine Soul. Original Hinduism or Sanatana Dharma teaches us to realize that we are that - the Divine energy, not this body and mind that we appear to be. When we realize that we are the Divine Soul, then we become liberated from all misery and suffering while alive and at death, we are liberated from the cycle of rebirth. We are not reborn in a new body, we are liberated and the Soul becomes one with the Supreme Soul. This is how we become one with God, the wave becomes one with the ocean, this is our goal.
By attaining Moksha.
