Pull the front plug and turn the engine until it breathes on you w/ pressure through the plug hole. then put a dial guage rod into the plug hole and when it reaches top, that is TDC
Edit: A dial gage rod is not needed, anything that will fit into the spark plug hole will do. You can be sure your on TDC by looking at the crank pulley there are lines on the pulley and a pin sticking out from the front of the engine make sure the second mark from the right on the crank pulley line up with the pin
Yes, late model bumpers will fit on 89-90 240sx
how many quarts of engine oil does 89 240sx takes
NOT VERY ,130HORSEPOWER............
I have a 91 240SX and had a similar issue, my Fuel Pump had to be replaced.
its the chassis code for 89-94 Nissan 240sx
Yes, even though the front bumpers are different the fenders are the same
The easiest engine swaps for a 240sx would be an sr20det or a ca18det as these require no modification to the motor mount location.
how the transmission module works
it will take lots of time and modification, just get it done by a shop
I bought a 89 240sx from my buddy, he had a 92 parts car and i replaced both fenders and the front bumper on the 89 with the 91 parts. In order for the bumper to fit you have to replace the inner 89 bumper with the 91.
NO, to pass smog test, it all needs to be original
You can't adjust the gas pedal. Unless you cut and weld the arm of it.
Brakes or wheel bearings. Have it looked into ASAP.
Yup. you must transfer the whole wiring harness and the ecu though, the job is easy and straight forward, everything is plug and play
116638 is fairly low mileage, but they did not make the 240SX until 1989. My 89 coupe has around 136000 on it (don't know exactly because someone tampered with the mileage)
Bleed the slave cyl. It probebly has air in the line or no fluid.
Yes, all auto transmissions from 89 to 98 are the same for the 240sx and are interchangeable.
The difference between a 89 and 92 are the front bumpers. The only difference between the two fenders would be if the car is a fastback or a coupe. If they are both fastbacks (and different years), there is no difference between the two.Correct Answerthe difference between the fenders is.... on the later generation of the s13 (91-94) 240sx is that the have plastic pieces clip into the front bumper other than that there is no difference not even between coupes or hatches
Look at pictures, or know that 89-90 have a sohc ka24e and 91-98 have a dohc ka24de
first, remove the spark plug from #1, bring piston to TDC(you can see the piston in the hole or use timing marks on dampener pulley) then remove dist. cap, where the metal piece faces is #1 then goes counterclockwise 3 4 2. then you can turn the distributor itself to tweak timing once the car is running
Is a 1995 Nissian 240SX Engine compatible to 1992 Nissian 240SX?
>>"What type of valves does a 1989 Nissan 240SX have?" what exactly are you asking? the factory motor for the 240sx's, years '89-'90, is the KA24E, single cam, 2.4 liters, 12 valve. It has two intake valves, and one output valve.
particles in the master, dirt, taking out the seals? If it bolts up and works for a while the difference in years should have no affect on it. Bad rubber hose if it has one, flaking off on the inside?
