Outside the Vista Lighthouse is a hidden item. After you talk to Volkner, go to the gym at the Northwest part of Sunyshore City. Then get to Volkner at the end of the gym and battle Volkner. He specializes in electric-types. His Pokémon will be Raichu, Ambipom, Octillery, and Luxray. Though Ambipom and Octillery aren't electric-types. They are normal- and water-types, respectively. After you beat Volkner, go to Jasmine at the north part of Sunyshore City and she will give you HM07, Waterfall, which you will need to get to the Pokémon League. She will not give you HM07 if you haven't beaten Volkner.

There are actually eight badges to collect. The last badge is in Sunny Shore city. Head east from Pastoria City, then go through the inn. When you reach the steps, and have a choice to head north or east, head east. Battle all the trainers there, (especially the third fisherman) as there a lots of Pokemon new to see, and should fill up your pokedex considerably. then there is the last gym! (after this the elite four, Pokemon champion, then a whole new pokedex to fill up. the national pokedex.)
