Remove the transmission cover plate, under the vehicle, that will expose the flywheel, you should be able to see the bolts form there, to remove get a ratchet with a long handle and the correct socket, you will have to pin the flywheel with a large flat blade screwdriver to keep it from turning on you while you loosen the bolts, reassemble in reverse order
NO....
NO............
one quart is enough to lube everything up.
Bad torque converter would be a likely reason, especially with the 4L60E
The difference between a 94 4L60E and a 95 4L60E, is the number of solenoids on top at the torque converter. The 94 has one on top, and the 95 has two on/off solenoids
5 quarts when it is full. 1 to 2 quarts when it is new before you install it..
Not without removing the transmission, and even at that it won't drain completely. If the converter is contaminated, once removed, a power flush would be recommended at your local transmission shop.
watch the rpms when you break stand the car
there is usually a metal plate on the transmission itself with that information on it, or you can tell by the number of transmission bolts you have in the transmission pan.
That would be the 4L60E transmission.
It takes a total of 5qts. However if you just drain the fluid out of the pan it's going to be less due to the fact that you would still have about 2qts still in your torque converter
1995 4L60E transmissions are unique to 1995. No other year will work 100% correctly. It has to do with the electronics, and the lock-up solonoid for the torque converter. Other years maybe able to be modified to work, but it would be such a job that rebuilding your current trans would be a better option.
