I am sorry to say, but this man is taking full advantage of you and using you. You may not have meant it because you love him, but you enabled this behavior in him. He appears to be immature and when things don't go well with this other woman he flits back to you because he knows he can have his own way. He's spoiled, selfish and self-indulgent. Since he has changed his phone # consider it a blessing because this is a good sign you should move on with your life! By putting up with this behavior from him it causes you to lose out on other nice guys that may well want to ask you out and it suffocates any relationship you could have with someone else. Good luck
