When first getting a hamster, you should give it a couple of days to adjust. You can start to get to know them by laying your hand in the cage with a treat on it. Your hamster will probably sniff your hand, and then grab the treat. If your hamster bites your hand, pull your hand out of the cage. Keep trying this for a couple of days and your hamster will begin to feel more comfortable around you!
the best way to introduce your hamster to handling is to let them come to your hand. if you were a hamster you wouldn't want to be grabbed! show that you are not a threat by putting your hand in the cage near the hamster without touching it and slowly moving it away from the hamster. this way your hamster is more likely to come to your hand. avoid quick movements as this will scare your hamster. when your hamster has had enough leave it or it wont come out when you are there. though it may take time, your hamster will gradualy get used to your hand and wont mind being held! i am in the process of taming my fourth hamster at the moment! hope i helped!
if you just got a new hamster leave it alone for about a week, then you can start to put your hand in the cage and let him smell you. slowly you can put treats in your hand and if it trusts you it will crawl on to your hand and take it...even if your hamster is not new this is a good way for your hamster to trust you, and become friendly

There are several methods for picking up a hamster. The two safest methods are: 1) Lower a container into the cage and let the hamster climb into it. This method is safe and keeps the hamster from biting your fingers. 2) Cup your hands together and slide them under the hamster to lift it out of the cage. Or slide one hand under the hamster and cup your other hand over the top of the hamster.
the hamster is scared when you corner it or put your hand s towards its face .the best thing to do is rub the sawdust from inside the cage in your hands then try to relax your hand with the Pam of the hand facing up. then the hamster will sniff the sawdust in your hand it should go on your hand but try not to lift it as it might get scared again ,try and put food in your finger tips and feed hamster as the fingertips seems to be smaller than the Pam of your hand .then give time for your pet hamster to trust you .
You need to be able to show your hamster that it can trust you. You mustn't make any loud noises or sudden movements around it. First let the hamster sniff your hand. Once he knows your smell try again. After a while the hamster will begin to trust you and eat from your hand.
depends if the hamster is tame and used to being around people and their scent.
yes
There is no real way of taming a hamster, however when you hold it I would advise you to wear gardening gloves. This means that if the hamster decides to bite or scratch you then you won't feel it.
If it is a new hamster then the best way is to put your hand it's the cage with a treat on it, if the hamster takes the treat and quickly runs away this is fine. Do this a few times every day and you should soon be able to start picking your hamster up without any treats. If hamster bites you whilst you pick it up this is probably because they stressed, or nervous, so just put hamster back in cage.(Don't shake hand to try and get hamser to release grip as you may injur hamster).
